TAVI, short for transcatheter aortic valve implantation, is a minimally invasive procedure in which a catheter is inserted through the inguinal artery to place and unfold an aortic valve replacement in the heart.
TAVI is particularly valuable for patients who cannot or do not want open heart surgery and prefer a shorter hospital stay.
TAVIs are part of the services offered by the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Heart Centre in Zurich.
