TAVI - Modern Aortic Valve Replacement

Almost one in five people over the age of 80 has problems with the aortic valve in their heart. Due to their advanced age, open-heart surgery is often too risky. In the TAVI catheter procedure, the valve is replaced with a prosthesis in a minimally invasive way.

The short film shows how Dr. Olaf Walter  Franzen explains the procedure and, together with his team,  performs it in the operating room using a heart catheter and positions an aortic valve.
