Almost one in five people over the age of 80 has problems with the aortic valve in their heart. Due to their advanced age, open-heart surgery is often too risky. In the TAVI catheter procedure, the valve is replaced with a prosthesis in a minimally invasive way.
A feature (german only) of Tele Züri's "Checkup Gesundheitsmagazin" presented by our Partner Hirslanden Klinik im Park.
The short film shows how Dr. Olaf Walter Franzen explains the procedure and, together with his team, performs it in the operating room using a heart catheter and positions an aortic valve.
